Does it download an entire manga series?

No. Manga Downloader is designed to save the chapter currently open in your browser. It does not crawl a whole series or automatically download future chapters.

Which manga sites does it work on?

It works on reader pages where the browser can access the loaded chapter images. Some websites block image requests, hide pages behind a login or use a layout the extension cannot detect, so support is not guaranteed for every site.

Is the ZIP created locally?

Yes. The extension builds the ZIP in your browser. It first tries to fetch each image directly. Only when a direct request fails can it use Scan Translator’s secure fallback server to retrieve that image.

What happens if an image cannot be downloaded?

The extension tries a direct request and then its fallback. If an image still fails, a partial ZIP can include a failed-images.txt file so you can see what was missing.

Can it save manhwa and webtoon chapters?

Yes. Manga Downloader looks for image-based chapter pages, including manga, manhwa and webtoons. Very long or unusual reader layouts may produce different results depending on the site.

What the extension does and what it does not

Manga Downloader saves the chapter open in your tab. It does not crawl a whole catalogue, monitor releases or promise support for every reader website.

Local ZIP creation. The archive is assembled in your browser, with ordered filenames for the detected pages.
Direct download first. The extension tries to fetch each loaded image directly from its source.
Fallback only when needed. If a source blocks the direct request, a rate-limited Scan Translator server can retrieve that image for the ZIP.
Site limits still apply. Login walls, protected images or unusual page layouts can prevent a complete download.
